Installed by our own joiners
Timber Stables, Field Shelters & Barns in Derbyshire
Clydesdale is a Derbyshire business. Our farm workshops have been at New Mills in the High Peak since the early 1990s, and every building we make is manufactured there from heavy duty, pressure-treated Redwood before our own team of joiners erects it on your site.
Across the county, from the Hope Valley and the Derbyshire Dales down to the Amber Valley and Derby itself, we install timber stables and tack rooms, field shelters and mobile field shelters, American barns, garages, workshops, sheds and garden buildings. Because everything is made to order, each one is designed around your land, your animals and your planning position.
What we build in Derbyshire
Planning in Derbyshire
Stables, barns and most permanent timber buildings usually need planning permission. Inside the Peak District National Park the National Park Authority decides applications rather than the district council; elsewhere it is High Peak, Derbyshire Dales, Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Derby City and the other local authorities. We can support your application with drawings and specification.
Built for upland weather
Much of Derbyshire is exposed. Our 1" V-jointed vertical cladding, 3" x 2" framing and 4" roof timbers are heavier than most, and field shelters are strapped to the ground for stability in all weathers — a specification that came from building on Peak District hillsides for four decades.
