How It Works
Every Clydesdale building is made to order, so there is no catalogue to pick from and no price list. That can feel like a leap if you haven't bought a bespoke building before, so here is exactly what happens between your first call and the finished building.
-
Step 1
Get in touch
Call us or send a message through the site and tell us roughly what you have in mind: what the building is for, how big, where it is going and when you need it. A rough idea is plenty to start with. If you would like to see one of our buildings in use before going further, many of our customers are happy to show theirs, and we will see what we can arrange near you.
-
Step 2
Design and quotation
We talk through the options with you — sizes and heights, roof pitch and materials, ventilation, lined and insulated roofs, tack rooms, doors and windows — and offer design advice drawn from four decades of building for horses, smallholdings, gardens and estates. You then receive a written quotation for exactly that building. It is free and without obligation.
-
Step 3
Planning and base
If your building needs planning permission we can support the application with drawings and specification. We also set out what base your building needs so you can have it prepared, and are happy to advise before you bring in a groundworker.
-
Step 4
Made to order in Derbyshire
Your building is manufactured in sections in our farm workshops in the High Peak, from joinery-grade, pressure-treated Redwood with heavy duty galvanised fittings. Because it is built to order we confirm a current lead time with your quotation rather than a generic figure.
-
Step 5
Delivery and installation
We deliver throughout the UK and the building is erected onto your prepared base by our own team of joiners — the same people who understand how it is made. On standard designs you can instead choose delivery-only or ex-works supply and put the building up yourself, saving up to 25% depending on the building.
-
Step 6
Aftercare
Every static building is guaranteed for 7 years from installation. Many of our customers come back to us years later for a second building or an addition, and we are always at the end of the phone.
What helps us quote quickly
None of this is essential for a first conversation, but the more of it you have to hand, the sooner we can give you a firm quotation.
- What the building is for: horses or ponies, livestock, storage, a workshop, a garden office
- A rough size, or the number of stables, bays or rooms
- The postcode or location of the site
- Whether you have planning permission, have applied, or are not sure
- Whether a base is already in place
- Access for a delivery vehicle: gateways, tracks, overhead lines
- Your timescale
- Any photos or sketches of the site, however rough
Why no price list?
Two buildings that look the same on paper can differ a great deal once you account for size, height, roof, doors, ventilation, insulation, fittings and where in the country they are going. A headline price would be wrong for almost everyone who read it.
So we quote every building individually, for exactly what you need, with the specification written down so you can compare it like for like with anyone else. We are not a budget manufacturer, but we are confident you will find the value for money excellent.
